Just a quick post letting you all know that I’ve updated my UAS platform.
Parrot released a new version of AR FreeFlight (App 2.3.0) that is now available on Google Play for Android devices. I’m currently testing the app and some of the new features.
What new in this version:
AR.Drone Academy (FINALLY!!)
See all your flights on the Academy map, watch your videos, enhanced with in-flight data and share them with pilots throughout the world.
– Create your pilot profile
– Save and consult your in-flight data
– Geolocation of your flights
– See the world map of AR.Drone flights
– Share your flight data with other pilots
– Find the best places to fly
– Link your flight data with the matching videos
Automatic recording function
Facebook & Twitter sharing
I picked up new onboard USB recording media. The SanDisk Cruzer Fit 32 GB USB Flash Drive SDCZ33-016G-B35. This memory plug brings 32 GB of storage capacity at a weight of approximately 1.6 grams. I’ve tested this USB plug and found it compatible with the Parrot 2.0. My only complaint is that it might be too small! I’m afraid I might lose it.
Also as a planned upgrade, I’ve ordered replacement Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Propellers to help stabilize flight. I expect them to be installed mid-week.
That’s all for now. Enjoy your flight time.
